bigg’s opened its doors in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1984 as the first store in the country to specialize in both grocery and general merchandise. The idea was so successful that almost every large grocery retailer has since imitated the concept.
In 1994, bigg’s became a wholly owned subsidiary of SUPERVALU with seven locations. Today bigg’s has 11 locations in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky markets. Shoppers can depend on bigg’s to provide the finest quality fruits, vegetables, meat and seafood departments, an extensive grocery department and a general merchandise section dedicated to seasonal goods, all with a fresh approach, at a refreshing value.
In addition, bigg’s hypermarkets include fashions, housewares, toys, pharmacies and in-store banking to ensure one-stop shopping. All bigg’s locations are open from 6am to 11pm daily and several offer a drive-thru pharmacy.
